What’s next for the lucky UK pub poker players who qualified in Redtooth Poker Vegas 100 tournament?
UK Pub poker players Ricardo De Caldeira and Mike Lynch weren’t expecting to get a chance to enjoy the glitz and glam of Las Vegas when they qualified in the 265,000 Redtooth Poker Vegas 100 tournament.
The pair came from Lincolnshire. De Caldeira, who plays at Trawl Inn, hails from Laceby, Road Grimsby. While Lynch, who plays at the Crown and Arrows, is an Elvington Close, Lincoln local.
Along with other 98 competitors, the two pub poker players will travel to America on May 27 for a week-long visit. Not only will the winner get a chance to win part of a 12,000 prize pool, he will also receive a 10,000 sponsorship deal – a first in the event’s history.
But that’s not all. The competitors will also take part in a welcome tournament, with the top eight players winning the chance to have a seat in one of the qualifying events for the World Series of Poker, which is taking place in Las Vegas alongside Redtooth’s final.
Martin Green, the managing director of Redtooth Poker, was happy to secure the trip for the 100 qualifying players for the tournament. He expressed confidence in the players’ skills, saying all of them had done remarkably well.
“These are the best amateur pub poker players in the UK so they full deserve this once in a lifetime trip to America,” he said, adding that Redtooth’s Vegas 100 tournament continues to grow from strength to strength and has become the event for amateur players to take part in.
Launched in 2007, the event is now in its ninth successful year and is the largest live pub poker league in country. It had been held in more than 1,000 venues and had registered 180,000 players since it started.
Will De Caldeira or Lynch emerge as the winner? Best of luck, fellas!
